Consequences of Virtue Ethics from the Perspective of Economic Public Law

Abstract

Policymakers in public and economic law, under the influence of ethical schools of thought, seek to distinguish between the current situation and desirable goals, aiming to bridge the gap between what is and what ought to be by employing various instruments. The successful implementation of this process depends on the continuous evaluation of all components of these two main and significant elements, which is generally carried out based on the principles governing public and economic policy-making. Muslim jurists typically derive these principles by referring to foundational sources. Alongside these legal discussions, various economic schools of thought have structured their systems for evaluating policies based on their own purposeful ethical criteria. In this article, through a descriptive-analytical method and under the overarching framework of public law discourse, we aim to examine and explain this topic.
